Easter Sunday moves every year, and with it a whole cluster of German public holidays. This calculator gives you Easter Sunday plus the dependent movable feasts for any year.
What is this tool?
Most German public holidays are fixed (e.g. 3 October), but a large group is movable because it is anchored to Easter Sunday: Karfreitag (Good Friday, −2), Ostermontag (Easter Monday, +1), Christi Himmelfahrt (Ascension, +39), Pfingsten (Pentecost, +49), Pfingstmontag (Whit Monday, +50) and Fronleichnam (Corpus Christi, +60, in some states only).
How it works
The tool computes Easter Sunday with the standard Gregorian algorithm, then adds the fixed offsets for each dependent feast. Corpus Christi is flagged as regional (observed in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and others, but not in all 16 states).

Is Corpus Christi a public holiday everywhere?

Why do the dates change each year?
Easter is a movable feast tied to the spring equinox and the first full moon thereafter, so the whole cluster shifts by up to five weeks.
What is a Brückentag?
A "bridge day" – a single workday between a holiday and the weekend that many Germans take off to create a long break. Ascension Thursday is the classic bridge.
Does this include fixed holidays?
No – this tool covers only the Easter-dependent movable feasts. Fixed holidays like 1 January, 1 May and 3 October are not listed here.

This tool computes the Easter-dependent movable feasts only. Fixed holidays (Neujahr, Tag der Arbeit, Tag der Deutschen Einheit, Christmas, etc.) are not shown. Corpus Christi is a public holiday only in some states – verify against your state's official holiday list. The Easter algorithm is valid for all Gregorian-calendar years.
